The eyes are the windows to the soul, but to the car driver and his passengers, it is the car windows that feed their soul during a journey. The VW window switch is actually an activator to let the passengers do what they want with the car windows. The car door is being powered by a 20-amp circuit breaker that will reach the switch, which will then distribute the power to the center of each of the four window switches. So when a car occupant presses one of the VW window switches, one of the two side contacts will be disconnected from the ground and connected to the center power contact. The other one that is not activated will remain grounded. This provides the power that the window motor needs.

Children are often fascinated with these things, sometimes they play with the switches and make them climb up and roll down continuously.
